We are delighted to offer a discount for powers of attorney instructed online. Usually the local cost for a power of attorney is £350 to £500 + VAT together with a fee of £96 for registration with the Office of the Public Guardian as is required. By completing the form below, your power of attorney will cost only £300 + VAT (or a total of £400 + VAT for two powers of attorney instructed together) together with the registration fee. Please see our Terms of Business at the bottom of this page and to learn more about how granting a power of attorney can benefit you and your family, please visit the website of the Office of the Public Guardian.
Once you complete the form, we will send to you a draft of your power of attorney as quickly as possible, together with a declaration form the Office of the Public Guardian needs your attorney(s) to sign to confirm they are happy to be appointed. If you wish to make any changes just let us know. You will then be asked to make an appointment to sign the power of attorney. Please bring with you to that appointment the signed attorney declaration form, and two forms of identification (something photographic like a passport, bus pass or driving licence, and proof of your address like a recent bill or bank statement).
At your appointment if everything is in order the power of attorney will be signed. It will then be sent to the Office of the Public Guardian for registration, and once it has been registered you will receive a certified copy of it to put in a safe place. One of the advantages of it being registered, of course, is that if you lose your copy another can be ordered.
